Founder/Executive Director
Isabella Grosso
Isabella Grosso, a California native and professional dancer, discovered her passion for dance at the tender age of three, twirling in her family's living room. She honed her skills at the Debbie Allen Academy and the Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, mastering a versatile repertoire that includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Salsa, and Swing. Renowned for her high energy, creativity, and passion, Isabella has graced the stage alongside top industry artists such as Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Pitbull, and has made memorable TV show appearances on The Mentalist, Desperate Housewives, Victorious, and Switched at Birth.
However, Isabella's journey to a professional dance career was marked by adversity. From the age of five, she endured abuse from seven different individuals, none of whom were strangers. Despite the profound trauma she experienced, Isabella found solace and empowerment in dance. This transformative art form helped her reconnect with her body and provided a pathway to healing from her past. Drawing from her personal experience, Isabella established She-Is in September 2014, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at helping survivors of sexual abuse and sex trafficking find healing through the transformative power of dance. Today, She-Is stands as Isabella's greatest life passion and purpose, embodying her dedication to empowering others through dance.
When not immersed in the world of dance, Isabella indulges in reading memoirs, savoring meals at her favorite vegan restaurants, and relishing her morning chai tea lattes with an extra shot of espresso.
